Weather in Rajasthan can be divided into 4 seasons like every other Indian State. The four seasons are summer, winters monsoon and post monsoon. Rajasthan can be visited all round the year. Tourists love visiting Rajasthan during favorable winter months due to extreme climatic conditions in summers. From October to mid of March is consider as the best time to visit Rajasthan. Winter Months (Mid Oct - Mid Mar) are the ideal season for visiting Rajasthan as temperature ranges from 8° to 28° C in these months. From October to March, Tourist can enjoy the heritage and all the rich cultural life of Rajasthan. Summers in Rajasthan starts from April till June end. Summers are too hot in Rajasthan so most of the tourist visit Rajasthan during winters. Monsoons are also considered as the best time to visit Rajasthan.
Monsoons are quite humid but rains can be enjoyable anytime. This bring some greenery to arid lands of Rajasthan. Tourist can enjoy Bird watching which include some famous migratory birds. Rajasthan wildlife is at its best in monsoon. Tourists often visit Ranthambhore National Park, Sariska Tiger Reserve, Keoladeo Ghana National Park and Khichan Bird Sanctuary.
Summer Months (Apr – July) are normally avoid by tourist for sightseeing and travelling due to high temperature which ranges between 35-45 °C or even 48°C in some parts like Churu (Hottest place in Rajasthan). Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan which receive tourists even in summers. Summer months also have some well known Fairs and Festivals like Mahaveerji Fair, Mount Abu Summer Festival and Teej festival.
Along with Fairs and Festivals , Rajasthan’s Forts, Palaces and Monuments are open round the year. Tourist prefer to visit these indoor heritage sites in summer months also due to extreme weather conditions outside. Palaces , Museums, Havelis, Garden and Lakes can be visited all round the year in Rajasthan.

Due to climatic conditions in Rajasthan, winters months are the peak season for Rajasthan Tourism as many world famous culturally rich Fairs and Festivals falls in these months. Like at the starting months of the year Camel Festival, Nagaur Fair celebrates in January, Desert Festival, Baneshwar Fair, Braj Festival in February, Elephant Festival, Kaila Devi Fair, Gangaur and Mewar Festival in March.
At the ending months of the year Dussehra , Matasya Festival, Marwar Festival, Pushkar Fair, Chandrabhaga Fair, Winter Festival are celebrated in Rajasthan.
