She was born with a silver spoon to the most affluent family in India and to business honcho Kumar Mangalam Birla- the CEO and Chairperson of Aditya Birla Group. Ananya was a gifted and a multitasking person since her childhood and she sparked in all her talents. She is currently running her own micro-finance company named- “ Swatantra Microfinance” and also doing some good work with “CuroCarte” which is an online E-commerce company that deals with luxurious curio objects used for home décor. Ananya Birla belongs to Birla Family Marwari family who belongs to Rajasthan.
Since childhood, Ananya has been a bright student and she has been guided by her mother-Neerja Birla. She was the person with whom she shared her dreams and future plans, and being a philanthropist she helped her to nurture her dreams in the most creative way. She has done her schooling from American School of Bombay, in Mumbai, India and thereafter she completed her Masters in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford, England. She came back to India and in the year 2013, she started her own microfinance company named “Swatantra Microfin” which is a finance company that supports the rural women to get their work done by providing them small loans with lowest interest rates.
Ananya Birla became a popular name after she started her first enterpreship venture with “Swantantra Microfinance”. She achieved some very good impact on the people around mostly in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The beginning was not so easy but Ms. Birla was quite resolute on her terms in making it successful. At very first she traveled to the remote areas of the places of Maharashtra and talked to the women who never heard of loan and bank accounts, and she also did it very easily applying the procedure of NEFT fund transfers in case of loan disbursement. The company took its time to be fruitful and so as her effort and hard work paid off. Ananya Birla was a having business in her blood and making her vision into reality was her first priority. Svatantra Microfinance has grown to 27 branches in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The company is also planning to have more than 100 branches, in other states too and to have a loan collection of Rs 600 crore. Ananya Birla is having the vision to empower more than 6 lakh women and change their lives, with better schemes which can get them increased income.
She is also running an exclusive online store called “Curocarte” that deals in beautiful handicrafts that are retailed all around the globe. Ananya Birla is also the Co-Chairperson of ASSOCHAM’s Microfinance Council of India.
Besides being an entrepreneur at a very early age of 21 she is also a singer and joined hands with internationally acclaimed musician Jim Benz and she released her first Music Album named “Livin the Life” in 2016. She is proficient in playing Santoor and guitar. She has become a worldwide name in the western Musical world with her music video. She recorded it in Philadelphia and became the first Indian artiste to get a worldwide release through PM: AM Recordings and over 14 million views of on YouTube.
She is having a brother and working with her mother Neerja as a philanthropist for the people who are suffering from anxiety and depression. Also, she is working on building a set up for those children who are suffering from mental stigma.
