The Department of Archaeology and Museums Rajasthan, incepted in the year 1950 preserves, protects, exhibits and interprets the cultural legacy embodied in various forms of art and architecture. It has 322 protected monuments,17 museums,1art gallery, 04 propose museums and 47 protected archaeological sites under its control comprising of sacred and secular monuments, such as exquisite temple, colossal mosques, massive forts, artistic cenotaphs, carved and painted havelies.

This department primary deals in the preservation, restoration and conservation of monuments, antiquities and archaeological sites. It also suveys the new archaeological site and does all the documents required. The department organises exhibition, seminars and lectures on the various historical dwellings of the Rajasthan and Maharajas of Rajasthan. Apart from these the department has taken initiatives in the fields such as enlisting in the world heritage, composite tickets, light and sound show, audio guide facility. documents of coins etc.

I am Deepak Dhawan tour guide. I saw several times in amer fort booking window surver down. That s why our guest feel problem. Because we can not go without entrance tickets. This is not good impression in front of tourist. Before i never face this type of problem. And booking staff is very rude. Never talk in politely. Thats why please sought out of problem. Lots of tourist facing please🙏

I belong to Dundlod(dist Jhunjhunu) born and brought up in mumbai, as Dr. Shailesh mentioned that we have tons of a places which are the known for the Tourist Paradise now being destroyed by local people either its drunken Places (like Dhabha) people destroy Non of the government have taken any measure to save. Earlier international and Nationally we were on the priority for tourism but if it continues will lose the same. As agreed with Mr. Mittal will have to do something to save this.

Rajsthan is fortunate to have a large store of archeological ruins, but its sad that its dept of Archeology is way too apathetic as many important ruins are being destroyed which is great loss to nation. Why Govt of Rajsthan is ignorant to this?
