The history of Bambora started when the Sisodias of Udaipur launch an attack on the Mughal powers soon after the death of Emperor Aurangzeb. On the banks of river Khar in 1711 AD, Maharaja Sangram II of the Sisodia dynasty fought a fierce battle against the Mughals. Sawant Singh, the younger brother of Rawat Kesri Singh of Slumber played a major role in guiding the king's forces to victory.
Later on the 14th April 1711, Maharana of Udaipur, Sangram II granted the Jagir of Bambora with the grand fort of Bambora to Sawant Singh for his services.
