Umed Garden was developed by King Umaid Singh. This garden spreads over 82 acres of green sprawling land where visitors can see Ashoka trees, lawns, fountains, a library, and a zoo. Tourists also like attractive roses and seasonal flowers which increases its beauty by many folds.
Zoo of the Umaid Garden was inaugurated by Viceroy Willingdon and hoses animals like lion, tigers, zebras, ostriches, emus, rabbits, crocodiles, foxes, deer, and leopards. There is also 1978 made ‘Walk-in Avery’ in the zoo where visitors can see Indian, African and Australian birds also in their natural environment. There are five gates in the Umaid garden for entrance and exit.
By Road: Umed Garden is located at the center of the Jodhpur city. One can easily reach here by bus or taxi.
By Rail: Umed Garden is well connected through nearest Jodhpur Railway station to major cities railway stations like Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Chennai, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad.
By Air: Umed Garden can be reach through nearest Jodhpur Airport (6 km) which is well connected with regular domestic flights to Delhi, Mumbai.
