Amer Archaeological Museum is a fabulous collection of the escavated material from the sites like Rairth, Nagar, Bairat, Sambhar and and the epigraphs and sculptures collected from different sites in the Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is established in 1949 at Vidyadhar Gardens in Purana Ghat. But in 1992, whole collection was shifted to Dil-e-Aaram Garden .

Inside Amer Archaeological Museum

  • First section has exquisite collections of the material found from the excavations at Nagar, Sambhar, Bansi, Pamvar, Rairth and Bairat.
  • Second section has the superb collectons of sculptures
  • Third section is the Epigraphy section. It has two ‘Yupa Pillars’ that are the sacrificial posts. This secton also has precious inscriptions from Pratihar, Barnala figures from Abhaneris (8th century AD), Terracotta from Rairth, Sambhar, Bairat belongings to an historical era.

The materials displayed in the Amer Archeology Museum are arranged in the chronological order, making the viewer acquainted with the input of art from different fields of Rajasthan.

Amer Archaeological Museum Timings: 10.00 am-5.00 pm. Friday and public holidays closed.

Amer is well connected by road , rail and air as it is just 11 km away from Jaipur.
