Loading...Mehrangarh Fort Museum is known to be one of the best museums in Rajasthan. It is located in Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur. This museum has a palanquin section which displays a wide collection of old royal palanquins. It also includes the elaborate domed gilt Mahadol palanquin, won in a battle from the Governor of Gujarat in 1730.
This museum has a fabulous heritage of the Rathores, including arms, costumes, paintings, decorated period rooms, etc, which are exhibited in the museum.
This museum displays one of the most important and unique preserved collections of fine and applied arts of the Mughal period of Indian history, during which the Rathore rulers of Jodhpur maintained close links with the Mughal emperors.
The Mehrangarh Museum Shop, located high above the city of Jodhpur in the 15th century Mehrangarh Fort, recreates the legendary atmosphere of the zenana, where luxurious and exotic riches from around the globe were collected for the royal women.
The contemporary shop, situated in a carefully restored space in the Fort’s museum, offers visitors an entrancing array of exclusive treasures, souvenirs, and memories.
The Museum Shop is located at the end of the audio tour. It offers a wide variety of exclusive products based on the collections of Mehrangarh Fort and the history and culture of Jodhpur.
Products include T-Shirts, caps, tote bags, books, postcards, music, jewelry, textiles, perfumes, textiles, and much more.
