Tilonia Location- Tilonia is a remote village located in the district of Ajmer in the state of Rajasthan in western India. Ajmer city is the district headquarters. The area of the district spreads to 8,481 km², and the population according to the 2001 census is 2,180,526. It is a harmonious city as there are three main religious groups that live in perfect peace and unity. The district lies in the heart of Rajasthan. It is bounded by Pali district to the west, Bhilwara district to the south, Jaipur and Tonk districts to the east and Nagaur district to the north. Aravali range is situated from the north-west to south-west of this district. The district is spread across the Thar Desert. The main rivers of this region are Dai, Khari, Sarawati and Sagarmati. It is located 50 km away from the district head quarter Ajmer, 109 km from the state capital Jaipur and 369 km from the central capital Delhi.
By Air-It is to be highly noted that the Government of Rajasthan has proposed to the civil aviation department of the Indian central government for the construction of an airport in Ajmer in the site called Kishgarh. The Jaipur International Airport is at present the nearest airport to Tilonia. It is nearly 132 km away from this particular village. The other airport that is very far from Tilonia is Kheria Airport. There are many regular daily flights to the major and minor cities within Rajasthan and rest of India from these airports. You can or hire a taxi in order to reach the district headquarter of Ajmer from Jaipur. These airports have daily flights to major cities of India like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. There is regular flights connectivity between other major and minor airports of Rajasthan such as Udaipur, Jodhpur and Aurangabad.
By Rail-It is to be noted that Ajmer railway junction is at an important railway station to reach Tilonia village. This railway station lies on the Broad gauge lines to Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Marwar, Ahmedabad and Mumbai and then onwards towards the south India to Bangalore. This particular train route is well connected with Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmadabad, Howrah, Ujjain, Bhopal, Jammu, Mumbai, Indore and all other major and minor cities and towns within Rajasthan and rest of India. It is to be remembered that Ajmer railway division has major technical and repair railway workshop too in this city. According to the sources of the Indian Railway department, Ajmer Railway Station has been successfully earmarked for investment and maintenance under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. This particular railway line has good connectivity towards various parts of the country.
By Road-The district of Ajmer is well connected by the network of road to other major and minor cities and towns of Rajasthan and rest of India. There are several number of private and government buses plying between Ajmer and rest of Rajasthan cities and towns. The city of Ajmer lies on the Golden Quadrilateral National Highway (NH) 8. This particular city is 135 km from Jaipur and about 400 km from Delhi. It is midway between Delhi and Mumbai. It is to be noted that a 6 lane highway is the Ajmer – Jaipur expressway. There are many luxury and air conditioned bus services from Jaipur and Delhi and other important cities and town to Ajmer. From the Ajmer bus terminal, there are few direct buses for Tilonia village. The native and foreign tourist can hire taxi or rickshaws to reach this particular village from Ajmer.
