Sajjangarh Biological Park Udaipur is a famous zoological garden, which is located just beneath the Monsoon Palace , around 4 km from the city center. The main aim of the establishment of the park was to conserve endangered and threatened flora and fauna. The park can be seen round the year. The monsoon season is from July to September. During this period, the area becomes lush green and more aesthetic. The area receives an annual average rainfall of 650 mm. Within two months of its inauguration, the park received more than 46,000 visitors in a month, generating a revenue of Rs 14 lakh for th e forest department, which is a record in itself.
The Biological park Udaipur has different varieties of animals and birds which have been brought from different parts of the world.
At present, it houses 60 animals of 21 species including tigers, panthers, lions, ostriches, alligators, rhesus monkeys, etc.
Mammals in the Zoo : Udaipur Biological park in Rajasthan has Himalayan Black Bear, Jungle Cat, Leopard, Tiger, Sambar, Striped Hyena, Lion, Indian Porcupine, Common Fox, Sloth Bear, Chital, Blackbuck, Jackal, Chousingha, Chinkara, White Tiger.
